Members & Friends Salon: A Conversation with the Students of Peace Jam

November 6, 2025
6:30 pm - 7:30 pm
Centre Congregational Church

193 Main Street Brattleboro VT 05301

As a perk of becoing a paid member, you are invited to network at our semi-monthly Members & Friends Salons, where off-the-record guest speakers share international experiences in an informal group discussion.  Refreshments will be served.

Your membership dues help to support the great work being done by the Peace Jam Club of Brattleboro Union High School. Don’t miss your chance to see the world through their eyes.

PeaceJam is a US-based global youth organization led by Nobel Peace laureates. It was founded by musical artist Ivan Suvanjieff and his wife, the economist Dawn Engle in 1993. Their vision was for PeaceJam to serve as an educational outreach program on behalf of Nobel laureates to mentor students of all ages in peace literacy.  It is Brattleboro’s good fortune to have our own “homegrown” laureate. Jody Williams, a graduate of BUHS.  We are thrilled that Jody will be joining us for the discussion.

The purpose of the meeting is to build collaborations and mentorships between our board and members and the students as well as connecting them with Jody. She will update them on the issues she is working on now with the Nobel Women’s Initiative.

On May 17, 2022 the Windham World Affairs Council brought Jody Williams to address Brattleboro Union High School Students. (See Reformer article here) With support from a new ‘PeaceJam Task Force’ at WWAC, Williams, a member of the Windham World Affairs Council, launched a PeaceJam ‘Ambassadors Program’ at BUHS.

An RSVP is appreciated, but not required.
